Bitchin' Betty is named after the pilots' nickname for a military fighter jets voice warning system. Military aircraft used voice warning systems as far back as the 1960's, in the B-58 Hustler. Back then crewmen referred to this system as “Sexy Sally” and it was voiced by actress and singer Joan Elms, at that time the voice was recorded to magnetic tape. When the F-15 came around it was voice by actress Kim Crow, and the system became known as Bitchin' Betty. General Dynamics used the voice of Erica Lane in their F-16 fighter. Boeing's own Leslie Shook had the honors of voicing the F/A-18's version. Apparently, she wasn't even their original choice, she was trying to coach someone else on how it should sound, and they asked her to start recording. A Navy lieutenant commander understood it was clear that Shook was the voice they were looking for, so he took over the job as recording engineer so that she could record her voice, Shook said. Later, Boeing decided to make Shook the voice for all of the other audio warnings.
Bitchin' Betty 2.0 is a re-imagined version of Bitchin Betty. The limited-edition model comes with the same parts you would get with Charky, but several parts have been hand painted a vibrant pink; The front sling attachment point, delta ring, dust cover, magazine, magazine release, bolt catch, trigger, grip, selector switch, charging handle and bolt carrier, rear iron sight, stock adjustment lever and rear sling mounting point have all received this pink treatment. In a live stream from January 19th, 2024, Anthony from Goat Guns spoke about them selling pink attachments separately to match the model. In the video he shows off the vertical foregrip and 4x (ACOG) scope, the way he spoke about it, there may be more pink attachments that were released at that time, but those are the only two we are aware of currently.
